I’m not sure what a big family consists of but I’ve always wanted 4 kids. I’m so happy to announce number four is being baked and will be due to arrive in July 2015. Yes, we planned for this baby as we did with all of our other ones. I’m not sure why so many people are shocked by the number of kids we have. I mean sure, sometimes I get to go to the store with one child and think to myself how easy one child would be. Some days I want to crawl in a hole when they are being exceptionally needy and whiny. My house… I mean just look at the picture above. Do you see the toys and sippy cups and kids dressed in Halloween gear when it is New Year’s day. Our life is crazy but I can tell you it is full of love and laughter. My children are so lucky to have one another. They are best buds and I’m so glad that I get to watch their relationship grow as they get older.
Here is one thing I could live without ever hearing again. “You have all boys, well, that is okay, girls are expensive.” I’m pretty sure what girls need in hair, makeup, and sanitary needs boys make up for in the cost in food. They already can finish a full lasagna alone! (They are 4, almost 3 and 1.5 yrs old. ) I would love to have a girl and there is a little part of my heart that wants to experience one but God has a plan and that is okay. Who knows what this one will be and we haven’t even made up our minds if we will find out the gender. I am okay with being the mom that is running them all to practices and joining them outside to play dodge ball. I was always told how much energy I had and maybe God knew that would be needed for a house full of boys. I mean they never stop moving, EVER. I love being a mother. I’m not sure if there is anything that can compare. I just want to know why telling someone your having number 4 they give you a shocked or pitied look. What makes having a big family wrong? I don’t have the answers but I sure hope that our society starts to understand how much children really are blessings. I’m so saddened by all the blog posts that say all the bad things they hear from having large families. I will make an effort to really go out of my way this year to compliment families of all sizes. You never know how an unexpected comment can either hurt or help someone. Be positive when there is so much negativity. I hope you all have an amazing 2015 with many blessings to you and yours.
